Greetings!
I figured in my first post it would be inanely stupid to talk about anything else but Brett Favre's saga finally coming to an end. You know, Brett Favre the quarterback? Thought you may have heard of him. First though, let me introduce myself.
My name is Dan Flickinger (Flick) and I worked in media for six years. I am taking the experience I gathered while doing that and keeping my readers up-to-date with NFL News, fantasy football player updates, and picks for the weekend. I hope everyone enjoys my blog and keeps coming back!
Now, onto Mr. Favre or how it really sounds... FARVE. When the he announced his decision to officially come back as a Minnesota Viking, you know somewhere John Madden had a single tear coming down his face and contemplating why in the world he retired from broadcasting. His Favre love affair is still very strong and even still think's Favre he would be the best torso in football, or at least that's what Madden impersonator Frank Caliendo says.
Anyways, as many of us are sick of the media circus, the question that keeps arising is "who is to blame?"
Is it Favre's fault that the media decides to hang on his every word as if he was God himself, or is the media at fault because they cover everything about his life including him going to the bathroom because people will watch.
I'd have to put the blame on Favre on this one.
C'mon Brett, did you really need to drag this out as long as you did? I know you can't control what the media does, but you do KNOW how the media acts and what they will do. He loves the spotlight. I just want to see how many people BOO him when they go to Lambeau Field.
The jury is out on if Favre can lead the Vikings to a deep playoff run, but with the likes of friggin Tavaris Jackson their only other option, you have to like their chances.
